Introduction
This page is meant to let people - not comfortable enough with French to express themselves freely on the French pages - have a say in the process.
I know for example that Sam Rose is ready to help in organizing a Seedcamp in France for the setup of a collaboration platform. Sam, you can use this page.
Saul Klein and Reshma Sohoni are very welcome to use this page to express their views on what a Seedcamp in France should look like. Or if we should use another form for the local initiatives and keep Seedcamp as a pan-European event.
More generally, anyone is invited to share their views and contribute here.
Collaboration Platform
Temporary Discussion
Hi, I can definitely help with the set up of a collaboration platform. Could be Drupal, or Media Wiki with templates like those used in http://aboutus.org, for instance. Let me know the where's and the when's and I'll do my best to facilitate --SamRose 12 septembre 2007 à 19:17 (EDT)
Thx Sam. Your help will be very precious. I'll let you know and report here the different steps we reach ventually on the French discussion side -- fredericbaud 12 septembre 2007 à 20:04 (EDT)
Also, I am looking at Seedcamp_Plateforme right now. It looks like you would like to incorporate ideas from ProjectScreening, which I think is a great idea.
If everyone involved thinks Drupal is a good direction to go in, I'd like to start designing the French SeedCamp prototype ASAP, just to help you make progress towards having a platform that is ready to use. I believe that it's pretty much safe to utilize Drupal 5.x now, many of the previous bugs have been resolved.
I am also open to thinking about how MediaWiki, and a set of useful templates, might be used as an alternative to Drupal. Although, I believe it's possible that there is a lot more work involved there, in terms of custom CSS, and possibly custom coding. It's worth exploring as an option, though.--SamRose 15 septembre 2007 à 08:27 (EDT)
Hi Sam, I created a Drupal 5.2 instance on http://protocamp.p2pventure.org. We can start playing with it. We should make the site multi-lingual and think how we can organize to have French content and English content easily accessed by people in their own language.
I created a page on the P2PVenture's English site to hold the detailed discussion in English on a prototype for a platform that could be used for any kind of FundCamp. I located this page there because I think we can have a very generic approach and we do not necessarily need to link this discussion with a specific event like what we are currently trying to organize in France. -- FredericBaud 15 septembre 2007 à 11:45 (EDT)
Goals of a Seedcamp in France
Today, we have been thinking that a Seedcamp in France could help:
- nurture a can do attitude for entrepreneurs
- help professionalize the creation process from the entrepreneurs' point of view
- nurture a can invest attitude for investors
- help professionalize the investment process
- start creating a dynamic that could lead to a vibrant ecosystem
- what else?
How to position a Seedcamp in France with a pan-European Seedcamp
We have to understand how we can articulate the different initiatives. A couple of leads are:
- Seedcamp France could help a couple of companies getting prepared for a pan-European Seedcamp
- Seedcamp France could help participants to a pan-European Seedcamp continue the experience at a local level if they feel it more adequate to their development process
- what else?
